Beach Fun with God

Have you been to the beach or going to one soon? I love the beach and spending time in God’s creation.

When I’m at the beach it always gives me time to think about God and spend time with him in a different way. There are lots of ways we can spend time with God when we are on the beach or even playing with sand at home. Here are some ideas.

1. Draw a picture of a story from the Bible

What story could this be? What story could you try drawing?

2. Write a message to God

What do you want to say to God, using a spade or a stick write a message to God.

3. Wash your feet

Why not get your feet all sandy and then wash your feet in the water and say sorry for the things you’ve done wrong.

4. Build something

What are you thankful for? You can try to build something with some wet sand.

Enjoy having lots of fun on the beach 🏖 or playing with sand and spending time with God!

World Prayers

In some parts of the world it is really challenging to be a Christian and we should remember to pray for them.  But sometimes it can be hard to know what to pray and how to pray for these people who live in different countries.  That is why, Open Doors have made a prayer pack for kids which you can get from their website to help you pray.

Thank you

In this play and pray session its all about thinking about the special people in our lives, maybe that might be family or friends.  Play and pray gives children a chance to play but also explore God using toys and everyday items from home.

Whilst playing

  • you might want to also look at some photos of different family members or friends to help you talk about these special people.
  • you could share why the people are special to you or even ask you child to say.
  • say  thank you to God for these people.
  • encourage children to point at photos of particular people and get them to use the sign language for thank you or say the words.

Out of the Water

God is always with us and he will rescue us by pulling us out of the water and he will restore us.

Head shoulders knees and toes prayer

I always find it helpful to use objects to help me pray but sometimes we don’t always have things with us which is why our bodies are a great way to help us to talk to God. Why not try out the head, shoulders, knees and toes prayer
